Cherry blossom season is a truly magical time.
Although I’ve visited Japan many times over the last 10 years, I’ve been able to enjoy the fullness of the season only twice.
Last year, during a span of three weeks, I was blessed to be able to see the daily unfolding of the cherry trees and their delicate flowers.
It was a unique experience for me. I felt connected to something special and spiritual.
But we don’t always think about Nature in this way.
Oftentimes when we see something stunning, such as a cherry tree in full bloom, we have two thoughts in quick succession.
First, we think about how breathtaking the scene is.
Next, we usually think about taking selfies and posting them as soon as possible.
In our normal daily consciousness we usually don’t feel the magic or sacredness of Nature’s beauty. Instead we’re thinking about our task list for the day or how others are going to react to our Instagram posts.
In many ancient cultures, people understood that all of Nature was alive with spirit.
They saw the wind, the rain, and blossoming flowers as the physical manifestations of Goddesses, Gods and other forces of spirit.
This understanding of Nature was even deeper in the ancient society of Lemuria and in the ancient Elven realms.
All of Nature is a manifestation of the Great Mother Goddess, the source of all light and life. The cycles of Nature are her sacred cycles.
The trees and the rocks and the stars all come forth from her cosmic womb.
And cherry blossoms in the spring are a magical reminder of her endless cycles of birth, death and rebirth.
The Goddess is in all things. She never leaves us. She is always there, creating, manifesting, and breathing life into her creations.
This season, if you’re blessed to be able to gaze upon the beauty of cherry trees in bloom, or any signs of spring, pause for a minute before you start snapping pictures for social media.
Breathe deeply and feel the Goddess within you and around you. Feel her power awakening the trees to life.
Feel her unconditional love for everything and everyone.
Feel her love for you.
