Earlier this year I was in the middle of a week-long road trip on the Big Island of Hawaii. I became very frustrated while driving. No matter where I was, it felt like everyone else on the road was driving too slowly.
And every red traffic light was much too long.
All I wanted to do was to drive freely and move forward, but it felt like everyone and everything was getting in my way.
Have you ever felt like this in some area of your life?
Thankfully, my higher self and guides gently reminded me that everything I experience in life—without exception—happens for my benefit.
Even if I don’t understand how or why, every moment manifests to help me awaken and heal and evolve.
So, I took a couple of deep breaths and started to shift my attention.
“Time is an illusion,” I thought to myself. “There is no rush. I can be calm and peaceful in any situation.”
I continued to breathe deeply.
Maybe the Universe was slowing me down to avoid a potentially dangerous traffic situation. Maybe my higher self was guiding me to an unexpected gift.
Maybe my guides simply wanted me to remember to trust the unfolding of life.
I looked at the Pacific Ocean off in the distance and thought about how vast and beautiful it was.
I looked at my wife Mamiko sitting beside me and felt deep gratitude to be sharing my life with such a wise and wonderful woman.
I thought about how blessed and abundant I was.
Within a few minutes I became much more relaxed. I felt the energetic presence of my higher self and guides.
I knew all was well.
I truly appreciated this loving reminder from Spirit: Life doesn’t happen to us. It happens for us.
Once you begin to accept that everything happens for your benefit, life becomes much easier because you begin to see the bigger picture. You begin to see life the way your higher self sees it, through the eyes of love.
Simply by changing your perspective, life becomes more joyful and more meaningful.
