If you haven’t felt motivated to dive enthusiastically into 2017, you’re not alone. Many of us have been experiencing a general heaviness and lethargy during the first week of the new year.
So, you can stop telling yourself you should be feeling more motivated or doing more. Putting that unnecessary pressure on yourself will only make you feel bad.
And what’s the point of that?
It’s OK to start slow. Handle each day as it comes.
As I mentioned last month, 2017 is the beginning of a new nine-year cycle. So, the choices you make and the patterns you establish this year will determine much of what you experience over the subsequent eight years.
It’s similar to how you experience each day. When you wake up in the morning, the first thoughts you choose to think largely determine the kind of day you’re going to have.
If you wake up and the first thing you think about is something that’s troubling you from the day before, what kind of day do you think you’re going to have?
You can consciously choose how you begin each day.
Some people choose to think thoughts of gratitude when they awaken. Others picture their ideal day, with everything unfolding as they desire, and then send the energy of love forward into the day.
Some people begin their day with a prayer and a short meditation.
Whatever you choose to do, remember that your intention is your most powerful asset.
In a similar way, you can consciously decide how you set the foundation for this year and your life direction for the following eight years.
Take it slow. Listen to your heart. Decide what kind of person you want to become. Then choose to focus on the projects that are most meaningful to you.
Each day, you can ask your higher self, spirit guides and angels for guidance.
But remember, if you ask for assistance, be sure to practice listening for the answers!
